Year in Review – Bag-Style!

PicMonkey CollageGoodness, it’s been a long bloggy vacation for me!  With holiday break, Polar Vortexes, sick kids, birthdays and moving/unpacking craziness that’s been going on, I needed some time to regroup and plan my attack for 2014.  The coughing still continues, but the kiddos are back in school and the Polar Vortex is gone. That’s a start, right?

I have seen so many year-in-review posts the past week or so. I’m not doing a full-on post, so I made a huge pic-monkey file of some of my favorite projects I completed this year. It was really fun to make and made me realize just how much I’ve learned and grown as a sewist and designer. A good feeling.

DSC_0011 Our Christmas this year was a quiet one, just the five of us.  The boys were up at 5:30am ready to start their day so by 8am we were done unwrapping and eating. I managed to con them into their winter gear to get a few shots of them in the snow.  We were not suppose to have a white Christmas this year, but somehow Santa managed to bring about 6″ of the fluffy stuff with him. Soooo pretty and such a treat for us!

So what do you think about the blog re-do?  I was ready for a fresh new look for 2014, so during the -30 degree weather outside I re-coded a bit of the site and went for a new look.  My blog runs on the Genesis Framework, so my previous looks are still in a file on my computer if I ever want to change back.  Check out some of the new features:

Screen Shot 2014-01-12 at 7.22.06 PMI added a huge Archive page on the blog so all my posts and tags from the past 2 years are easily available to search and read.  I also added a subscription box for people to receive posts via e-mail.  My social icons are still the same, but I did re-do my Bloglovin’ button. Click on the button if you’d like to add Raspberry Sunshine to your blog feed.

One last change I made was to add more specific blog categories on the sidebar. I have a few more to add, but it takes some time to change over things.  The rest of my sidebars have my Etsy shop, favorite buttons and my newest sew-along, The Sugar Block Club at Stichery Dickory Dock, which I cannot wait to start!

Whew, lots going on here! It’s been a fun change and has really pumped me up for 2014. I’ll be back tomorrow for my weekly Menu Monday and I’ll share a bit more of what I’ve been up to. Thanks for sticking with me during my bloggy break.
