WIP Wednesday is really in progress!

I am having a great week in the studio, how about you? I have a lot of projects going on at once, but I seem to be getting more done that way recently.  So while there are not a lot of “finished” pictures to show you, here are some shots of my sewing table.

The 163 Patchwork book blocks are still a big WIP.  I am starting to slow down a bit with this book as they get harder. By harder I mean those *funky* seams! I have been looking at tutorials to improve my skills, but when I see a page in the book with the red dots that show seams I turn the page. I’m such a chicken.

I am also finishing up on a new mini-bag for my shop. The bag is done, but I wasn’t sure about the straps until I found this piece of light veg-tanned leather. I cut it to 3/4″ width strips then rounded the edges. Hopefully I will be able to finish this in the morning. Once it’s had a nice steam iron I’ll  tweak the pattern a bit then make a bunch of them for the shop. Maybe some with fabric straps? We’ll see.

On top of all this fun, I joined my first swap as well! It hasn’t started yet, but we will be swapping handmade needle books.  These sew-alongs and swaps are so tempting aren’t they?

Hope you all have had a nice Wednesday.  Be sure to check back later this week. I am going to show you some MOONSHINE goodness!  Cindy

  1. Nice! I love that mini bag. I’ll have to check out your Etsy shop! 🙂

  2. Oo! That mini bag is adorable!

  3. Beautiful bags! I love the combination of linen and leather. Do you have any special tricks for sewing through the leather? I’ve only done it once, and I felt like I was coaxing my machine through every stitch!
