I’m so happy that Lee of Freshly Pieced has started up her WIP Wednesday’s again! Last year I started to use Wednesday’s to share what I was working on, but posting it to share with others really helped me get through my checklists and become more efficient. So today I have one big (at least to me) WIP that I completed last week.
My overflowing scrap bin:
This scrap bin has been accumulating fabric for what seems like years. In the fall, I started going through it in hopes of trimming things down. But while it’s fun to look through a bin of random fabric, I got bored. To motivate me to get this job done, I brought my bin with a little sewing station upstairs and while watching my FSU Seminoles play each Saturday I sorted, measured, cut, and tossed.
By the end of the season, I was down to this:
From my giant bin I was able to cut over 6 baggies full of usable scraps! Woo-Hoo! I am so glad I stuck with it and have been able to knock this out. One big goal – CHECK. All it took was some great football to keep me going.
- 1 baggie full of various sized triangles
- 2 1/2″ squares
- 2″ squares & strips
- 1 1/2″ squares & strips
- 1″ squares & strips
Now I have all these scraps in a bag on my shelf and a big chunk of space under my table open. Success!
So what is going to be my next WIP? This *kinda-sorta* design wall I just made. I have 3 WIP on there so next week I will tackle one and get it done! Have a great Wednesday.
