Well, I shared an epic fail of a bag the other day, so today I’ll show you a success. This bag was inspired from a Japanese craft book I purchased last year. I can understand the picture directions, but did use Google Translate and a Japanese translation site to help with the rest. After a bit of tweaking and altering, I finally finished it and I was very happy with the results! (See above)
When I make a new handbag, I usually spend a week carrying it around town to get a feel for it. It also lets me figure out if I want to change anything or add onto it. Kind of like a first draft. This bag has a long adjustable strap for putting it cross-body, but it also has a fabric handle sewn into the fabric strip you see sewn at the top of the bag. When you want to use the handles, just grab and go. That part of the bag I changed a bit (made taller by 2″) but that’s it. I was so happy with the final product, I made 3 more for my Etsy shop that will open soon.
Back to the studio I go. I am also going to attempt to switch my blog over to the updated WordPress in the next few days (which I have been dreading) so I am going to be busy backing-up files, etc. If you have switched over to the new WordPress, how did it go? Cindy
