Happy Monday! I am so excited to finally share with you The Crimson and Clover Train Case, a new pattern by Sew Sweetness! I tested this pattern awhile back but Sara held it back a bit so she could make a few cases in Tula Pink’s upcoming line Elizabeth!
What is wonderful about this pattern is that you get 3 different size options included. Finished Size of each case: Small 6” long x 4” tall x 5” deep. Medium 8” long x 5” tall x 6” deep and Large 10” long x 6” tall x 8” deep. I tested the medium which I plan to use for all my mani-pedi goodies, nail polish, etc.
For my case, I used a mid-weight Melody Miller print for the exterior and a coordinating quilting cotton in the interior. I’ve had this fabric stashed away for some time and when I saw the pattern I knew it was time to use it! Sewing this weight material with the Soft & Stable combo was a win-win. It is a sturdy case, but I strongly suggest you use Soft & Stable for the exterior pattern pieces. The interior of the bag has a ton of little pockets lining the side to stash smaller goodies. There is also a zippered pocket secretly sewn into the case top too!
I would say this pattern is more on the intermediate side. There is piping around the edges (which can easily be left out with great results) and also a large zipper installation. The one change I made was to use two zippers that meet in the front. I had to add a step or two to the actual pattern, but it works for me and can be easily done.
You can find The Crimson & Clover Train Case over at Sara’s shop, along with a ton of other wonderful patterns.
