Hi! I’m Cindy, author of Raspberry Sunshine. I started this blog in 2011 to feed my curiosity about blogging, handbag designing and sewing. You’ll see all that and more I guarantee.
I am a self-taught handbag designer and maker, but my love for sewing came from my grandmother who taught me how to sew in the 1980’s. Today, I am an active sewing pattern tester and editor for many of today’s popular handbag designers and have sewn handbags for many Fall and Spring Quilt Markets. Recently, I was able to test patterns for the books, Windy City Bags by Sara Lawson (Sew Sweetness) and On the go: 15 handmade purses, totes & organizers by Lindsay Conner and Janelle MacKay (Emmaline Bags).
I grew up in a suburb of Orlando, Florida and graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in 6-12th grade Family and Consumer Sciences Education. Currently I am a full-time mom to my three boys 19, 16, and 13, elementary school teaching assistant, and handbag sewing fanatic! I am truly blessed.
Let’s see…some favorites of mine? Handbags! I have too many to count. Don’t ask me to! I change them daily and make them all.the.time! Reading- I am a romantic at heart, so give me a good historical romance book and a quiet place to read it and I’m a happy girl! Too bad that doesn’t happen often. Treats- Anything dark chocolate, Fro-Yo by the pound, International Delights Peppermint Mocha coffee creamer, and York Peppermint Patties. Family – They’re everything.
I’m so glad you stopped by! If you see something you like on my blog and want to share it, please feel free! I only ask that you give proper credit back to my site. If you want to alter a project or idea seen at Raspberry Sunshine, please acknowledge my original idea with something like, ” Based on the idea by” etc. and link back to my site. Free tutorials from my site are welcome to be used and sold, BUT you MUST list my name as pattern designer in your listing. As always with us overprotective mama bears, please do not use pictures that my kiddos are in. They’re my kids after all! Thanks.
